This past Tuesday, January 10, Cass Career Center FFA held its January meeting with more than forty members attending.

According to FFA Reporter, junior Emily Hix, FFA members discussed the upcoming Barnwarming dance during the meeting.

The annual Chapter Barnwarming Dance will be at North Park Activity Center from 7-10 p.m., on January 13.

The candidates for Barnwarming are freshmen Ryan Rushly and Sydney Hoffman, sophomores Andrew Schrock and Kaitlin Fifer, juniors Emily Hix and Cody Hasek, seniors Charlie Crews and Trisha Dinges.

According to Agriculture Instructor and FFA advisor, Jason Dieckhoff, students are also busy finishing their Supervised Agriculture Experience (SAE) Financial Recordbooks for 2011.

“Eight members are applying for the State FFA Degree, based on their SAE projects and FFA leadership.  Only two percent of FFA members are able to attain the State FFA Degree.  Those applying this year are: Dusty Bennett, Luke Cook, Trisha Dinges, Kayla Dobson, Mattie Moore, Adam Rushly, and Heath Wernex from Harrisonville, and Andrea Reinhart from Raymore-Peculiar,” said Dieckhoff.

The FFA State Degree and Proficiency Selection will be held at Warrensburg, on February 2, at 4:30 p.m.
